1. General betting rules
These rules apply to bets placed through Wildcard Casino, unless a different rule is clearly displayed for a particular event, market, game or product. Specific market rules may explain how a selection is defined, when a bet is accepted, how an event is settled and what happens if an event is postponed, abandoned or changed. If there is an inconsistency between a general rule and a specific market rule, the specific rule will generally apply to that market.
By opening an account, accessing the betting service or placing a bet, you confirm that you have read and understood the rules that apply to your activity. You are responsible for checking the information displayed before confirming a bet. This includes the selected event, market, outcome, odds, stake, potential return and any other conditions shown at the time.
Betting is available only to people who meet the applicable age, identity, location and account requirements. Players in Australia must comply with all laws and restrictions that apply to them. You must not use the service if betting is unlawful where you are located, if you are below the applicable legal age, or if your account has been suspended, closed or restricted.
You must use your own account and provide information that is accurate, complete and current. An account must not be shared with another person, used on behalf of another person or operated for the benefit of someone else. We may require information or documents to verify identity, age, location, payment details or account activity before allowing betting activity or processing an account request.
- Only one person may use an individual player account.
- You must keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you believe they have been accessed by someone else.
- You must not use automated tools, bots, software or other methods intended to interfere with the betting service.
- You must not place bets using funds that do not belong to you or through a payment method that you are not authorised to use.
- You must follow any account, product, promotion and responsible gambling conditions that apply to your activity.
2. Placing and accepting bets
A bet is submitted when you select a market and outcome, enter a stake and confirm the bet through the available process. A bet is not necessarily accepted merely because it has been submitted or appears in a temporary betting slip. Acceptance is confirmed when the bet is recorded in your account or otherwise identified as accepted by the service.
Before confirming a bet, check all details carefully. You should verify the event, participant or selection, market type, odds, stake and possible return. You should also check whether the bet is a single, multi or another available bet type, and whether any minimum, maximum or other conditions are displayed. Once accepted, a bet generally cannot be amended, transferred or cancelled by the player unless the applicable rules expressly allow it.
Displayed odds, prices, markets and betting options may change before a bet is accepted. A price change may occur because of new information, market movement, a correction or a technical process. If the service displays a price change notification, you may be asked to confirm the revised price before the bet can be accepted. If you do not confirm the change, the bet may remain unaccepted.
A bet may be refused, limited, rejected, suspended or cancelled before acceptance for operational, integrity, compliance, technical or other legitimate reasons. A market may also be temporarily unavailable while information is checked or updated. If a bet is rejected, the relevant stake should not be treated as an accepted wager. Any applicable account adjustment will be handled in line with the relevant rules.
You should retain the confirmation shown for each accepted bet and review your account history. If a bet does not appear as expected, do not assume that it was accepted. Check the status first and avoid placing a duplicate bet until the position is clear. A delayed display does not, by itself, change whether a bet was accepted.
Errors and unusual activity
If an obvious error affects a price, market description, selection, result or settlement, the affected bet may be reviewed and corrected in accordance with the applicable rules. An obvious error may include an incorrect price, an incorrectly identified participant, a market that is clearly inconsistent with the event or a technical display error. We will aim to apply a fair and consistent outcome and may contact you if further information is required.
3. Odds, stakes and bet types
The odds shown for a market indicate the return associated with an accepted selection, subject to the bet type and applicable rules. The displayed return may include the original stake or may be shown as profit only, depending on the presentation used. Always review the bet confirmation and account record so that you understand the amount that may be returned.
A single bet is a wager on one selection or outcome. A multi or combination bet links two or more selections and may require every relevant selection to be successful, unless the specific bet type provides another method of settlement. The rules for a multi bet can be affected by a selection being void, a market being cancelled, a participant not taking part or an event being rescheduled.
Each market may have its own definition. For example, a market may be based on the final result, a qualifying result, a particular period of play, a named participant, a score, a statistical result or another stated condition. The market wording is important. A result that appears correct in general terms may not satisfy the exact condition of the market selected.
Stake and transaction requirements may apply to the betting service. These can include minimum or maximum amounts, available payment methods, account restrictions, verification requirements and responsible gambling controls. Any applicable requirement should be shown before you confirm the relevant activity. You should never attempt to avoid a limit or restriction by opening additional accounts or using another person's account.
Promotional bets, free bets, enhanced odds or other special offers may have additional conditions. Where an offer is available, the offer terms will explain matters such as eligibility, qualifying activity, expiry, stake treatment, excluded markets and any restrictions on returns. If an offer term conflicts with a general betting rule, the offer term may apply only to that offer. Promotional terms do not remove the need to comply with these Betting Rules or applicable law.
Live and in-play betting
Where live or in-play betting is available, markets may be suspended or prices may change while an event is taking place. There may be a delay between an event occurring and information being reflected in the service. A bet submitted during a suspension may not be accepted, and a bet affected by a material timing or information error may be reviewed under the applicable rules. You are responsible for checking the status and terms of a live market before confirming a wager.
4. Results, settlement and void bets
Bets are settled using the official or otherwise applicable result specified in the market rules. The source used may depend on the event, competition, sport, game or product. A result may be updated if the original result is corrected by the relevant authority or if reliable information shows that the first result was inaccurate. Settlement is based on the rules and information applicable to the market, rather than on informal reports, commentary or a player's personal view.
The scheduled start time, venue, format, number of participants and other event details can affect settlement. If an event is postponed, abandoned, interrupted, shortened, rescheduled or materially changed, the specific market rules will determine whether bets remain valid, are carried forward or are made void. Different markets on the same event may be treated differently, so you should read the rule for the exact market selected.
A selection or bet may be declared void where the relevant conditions for settlement are not met, where an event does not take place as required, where a market contains an error or where another stated rule requires cancellation. A void bet is generally treated as having no betting outcome, and the relevant stake is normally returned or removed from the calculation of a combination bet, subject to the specific market rules.
A participant who does not take part may affect the settlement of a market. The treatment can depend on the market type, the participant's status, whether the event started and the rules displayed for that market. A participant may be considered to have taken part if they meet the relevant participation condition, even if they later withdraw, retire or do not complete the event. The applicable rule will determine the outcome.
Where a result cannot be confirmed immediately, settlement may be delayed while information is checked. A delay does not necessarily mean that a bet has been cancelled. If there is a dispute about a result, the market may remain unsettled until the relevant information is reviewed. Players should rely on the account record and published settlement information rather than attempting to calculate a return independently.
Settlement corrections
If a bet is settled incorrectly because of a technical issue, an obvious error, an incorrect result or another relevant circumstance, the settlement may be corrected. This can include reversing an incorrect credit or debit and applying the result required by the applicable rules. We will not knowingly retain an amount credited in error, and you should not spend or withdraw funds that you reasonably believe were credited incorrectly.
If you believe a bet has been settled incorrectly, review the market rules and your bet history before raising the issue. Provide the bet reference, event details and the reason for your concern when requesting a review. A review may require time where the result, event information or account records must be checked.
5. Account safety, responsible gambling and support
Betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to earn income or recover losses. Set a budget before you start and only wager money you can afford to lose. Consider setting personal spending or time limits, taking regular breaks and keeping a record of your activity. Do not chase losses, borrow money to gamble or increase your stake because of a previous result.
- Only bet when you are calm and able to make clear decisions.
- Do not gamble to deal with stress, financial problems or other personal difficulties.
- Avoid betting when affected by alcohol, medication or any substance that may impair judgement.
- Use available account controls, limits, breaks or self-exclusion options if your gambling is becoming difficult to manage.
- Ask for help from an appropriate support service or qualified professional if gambling is causing concern.
We may apply account controls to support legal, security, identity, payment or responsible gambling requirements. These controls can include a request for information, a temporary restriction, a review of activity, a limit on account functions or account closure. We may also refuse activity where we reasonably need to protect the player, the service or the integrity of a market. Any restriction should not be treated as a reason to create another account.
You should keep your personal and payment information secure and contact us through the support options made available on the website if you notice suspicious activity, an unfamiliar bet or an account error. Do not send your password or security codes to another person. We may need to verify your identity before discussing account information or making changes.
If you have a question or complaint about a bet, first review the relevant market rule, confirmation and account history. Raise the matter through the available support process and provide enough information for the issue to be investigated. Complaints are reviewed using the applicable records and rules. If the matter cannot be resolved through the initial review, any further available complaint pathway will be explained in the applicable terms or support information.
These Betting Rules may be updated when the service, products, legal requirements, integrity standards or operational processes change. The current version will apply to future activity from the time it is published, unless a different effective date is stated. A change will not normally alter a bet that was already accepted where the existing rules continue to govern that bet. Check this page and the specific market information before placing a new wager.
If any part of these rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted. These rules should be read in a practical and fair manner and together with the other terms governing Wildcard Casino. If you are unsure about a rule, do not place the bet until you have obtained clarification through the support options provided on the website.
